Living in a Fallen World

Davis has now been sick for the very first time. It's a milestone of sorts, not of the "first tooth" or "first step" variety, but rather a negative reminder of the sort of world we live in. No matter how sweet and innocent they seem when they are born, their lives are immediately impacted by living in a fallen world. His cold got progressively worse as the weekend wore on so I called our local surgery (doctor's office) first thing yesterday morning. They squeezed us in right before lunch and following in the footsteps of his big brother Davis has an ear infection and slight possible chest infection. The doctor thought he heard slight "crackles" but no "wheezing". Not sure what the difference is, but regardless he is now on amoxicillin. I am praying that all this illness clears up before we have to fly, especially the ear infections. Sore ears and extreme altitudes are a BAD combination.
