I have an online friend, Annie, who I met on a parenting message board when Addison was a baby. She is an incredibly talented photographer and also has her own business creating handmade invitations, cards, and birth announcements. I helped her write the copy for her website a couple of years ago, and while I was doing that and perusing her samples for inspiration, I knew that when we had another baby I wanted her to do the birth announcements. Her work is amazing.
I contacted her before Evie was born and told her the color scheme I wanted. She emailed me photos of several samples and from that I narrowed it down to this pocket-style card. I worked on the wording and the photos, and then she emailed me the prototype. Once I approved it, she sent me a hard copy for a last look. It arrived yesterday afternoon, and I was completely thrilled with the finished product. I wish I could send every one of my readers a birth announcement, but although her prices are very reasonable, as the wife of a student, my coffers aren't that deep. Instead, through the miracle of technology, I can share it right here with you before the rest of my friends and family even receive theirs.
With joy in our hearts and thanksgiving to God we welcome Genevie Mae into the Holloway clan. She safely joined us on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:42am, a week early, weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 17 1/2 inches long. Much love, Trey, Becky, Addison, and Davis Holloway

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! And you're way ahead of me..I'm just sending mine out now and our poor little Ethan is almost 8 weeks old!
How do you do it? (Although I guess you'd planned in advance before she was born, which I didn't.)
And did I just not realize or forget that Genevie was born on Jacob's 2nd birthday?!
Wishing you a lovely rest of your babymoon with your little cutie!
